Types of Aircraft - Technical Data and Specifications, Photos and Facts
Aviation companies offer both older and newer aircraft models:
Memphis Belle
The B17 Flying Fortress must be the most iconic of all the daylight bombers and the Memphis Belle is surely the most famous of all the B17s. So when Just Flight released their version of the Memphis Belle for CFS3 and FS2002/4 I couldn’t resist giving it a test.
Flight1 Cessna 152
There can be very few people in the world of commercial aviation who have not had some sort of contact with the Cessna 152, even those people who have not had any real physical dealings with them will certainly know of them. It has become the archetypal ‘spamcan’ and is the backbone of thousands of flying training schools.
727 Professional
Captain Sim and JustFlight have recently released another in the ‘Legendary’ series. This time it is the turn of the three engined Boeing 727. It is easy to see why they chose this particular type when you consider that during its heyday it was the worldsbest selling jet airliner (before the 737 came along anyway), eventually selling 1,832 aircraft. Even now there are well over 1,000 examples still flying and earning money.
Ariane BBJ
Created by Ariane Design Studios this Boeing Business Jet package comes as a 6.1Mb download from there website for £15.00. What they have achieved is to recreate one of the world’s biggest luxury jet liners for those lucky business people capable of affording one.
DC9-30 Professional
If you have mastered the current breed of fly-by-wire, glass cockpit, auto-everything passenger jets and are beginning to ask yourself if there is more to flying than just twiddling a few knobs then JustFlight/Flight 1’s DC9-30 Professional might just be what you are yearning for.
PSS Vulcan
Here it comes; its massive delta wing blocking out the sun, its 4 powerful Rolls Royce Olympus engines shaking the very earth beneath your feet and the vibrations are felt deep inside your body. Then, with a deafening roar, it has passed and then stands on its tail and commences a near vertical climb, still pouring out noise and power.
Piper Meridian
Have you been looking for a fast, high flying, single engine GA aircraft that has the level of sophistication of an executive business jet? Do you crave a glass cockpit but are fed up flying big jets? Do you want to use a realistic cutting-edge GPS and avionics suite?
If the answer to any one of these questions is yes, then your salvation is here, in the form of Flight 1’s Piper Meridian.
Tornado!
Lago have created one of the world’s finest bomber/fighter aircraft of all time – the Tornado.
We were over the moon when I heard about this development and couldn’t wait to take it for a fly.
Carenado's Piper Dakota
Those of you who have read my reviews before will no doubt be familiar with the sight of my trusty Cessna C152 that I use for nearly all my GA flying and certainly all my scenery and utility reviews. That aeroplane is one of Carenado’s many add-ons and very impressive it is too. So it was with great delight and anticipation that I downloaded their latest aircraft; the Piper PA28-236 Dakota.
Lucky Lindbergh - A Century of Aviation
It cannot have escaped the attention of many aviation-minded people that next year will be the centennial of powered flight. With that in mind Lago have released their tribute to one of the great pioneering heroes of aviation: Charles Lindbergh.
Lago's Twin Otter
LAGO have joined forces with Igor Supronov to produce LAGO's first add-on aircraft, the Twin Otter. It was built entirely with GMax and is optimised to squeeze the best performance out of FS2002 and DirectX.
World Airliners 747 & 777 Pro
Just Flight have recently adapted their best selling FS2000 Boeing 747-400 and 777-200 for use in FS2002. They then went one step further and packaged them both together on one CD for the measly price of £24.99. This is less than half the price that they were for FS2000!
Aerolite-103 ultralight
Big jets. Lots of people like them. If the number of available downloads and repaints are anything to go by, a lot of people like them. You sit up there at thousands of feet shooting across the sky at brake neck speeds rarely seeing the ground and for some rarely touching the controls beyond the autopilot. I wanted something different. I wanted an Ultralight.
Mustang Vs FW109
Mustang vs. FW190 is based in the European theatre in the later stages of WWII when massive formations of American daylight bombers would form and head for Germany. However these raids were vulnerable to the deadly fighters that would scramble to meet them, especially Germany's finest fighter of WWII, the FW190.

Captain SimMiG 21 Review
Captain Sim'sMiG 21 is reviewed here. Is the aircraft as good as their L-39ZA Albatros? (See Combat Jet Trainer Review).
Adam Nardone tells us about this amazing aircraft.
Combat Jet Trainer
Combat Jet Trainer is Captain Sim's attempt at recreating the fabulous TLK-39C & L-39ZA Albatros training fast jet.
The TLK-39C & L-39ZA Albatros is the Soviet and Warsaw pacts standard jet trainer since 1973. The TLK-39C & L-39ZA Albatros is the equivalent of the RAF's Hawk to the Soviet's.
